Rakhimov Aubakir Sydykuly

Rakhimov Aubakir Sydykuly (September 11, 1950, Urzhar district, East Kazakhstan region, Taskesken village) is a Kazakh theater director, professor, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. Director of the Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater named after M. Auezov, professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov.
Education and first steps: Aubakir Sydykuly was born in 1950 in the village of Taskesken, Urzhar district. In 1966, he graduated with honors from the Y. Altynsarin secondary school. In 1966-1968, he studied at the acting studio of the M. Auezov Academic Theater in Almaty.
In 1974, he entered the directing faculty of the A. Lunacharsky Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) in Moscow, studying on the course of People's Artist of the USSR, Professor I.M. Tumanov. In 1979, he graduated from the mentioned educational institution with honors and defended his diploma work with a performance based on Oralkhan Bokey's play "Teketires" at the M. Auezov Theater. After that, he was invited to work at the mentioned theater.
Career: He began his career in 1968 as an actor at the Zhambyl Regional Drama Theater. Since 1979, he has been working as a director at the M. Auezov Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater. He has staged more than 50 performances of various genres, artistic solutions and topics on the stage of this theater.
He also worked as a teacher at the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, where he trained many young directors and actors.

1996 - Laureate of the Makhambet Utemisuly International Prize;
1998 - Honorary title of "Honored Worker of Kazakhstan" by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
1998 – Jubilee Medal “Astana”;
2009 – Order of “Parasat”;
2010 – Academic title of Professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts;
2015 – Jubilee Medal “550 Years of the Kazakh Khanate”;
2016 – Jubilee Medal “25 Years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
Aubakir Rakhimov is one of the outstanding directors who has made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakh theater art. His creative activity is aimed at developing national theater culture and educating a new generation of artists.
