Malaev Serik Ramazanovich

Malaev Serik Ramazanovich was born on January 2, 1952 in the village of Karakol, Ayagoz district, Semipalatinsk region. After graduating from school, he served in the army from 1970 to 1972.


In 1977, he graduated from the Semey M. Tolebayev Music College and began his career as a conductor at the Bayanaul Music School of Pavlodar region and the district ensemble "Bayan-sulu".


In 1982, he graduated from the Almaty Kurmangazy State Conservatory in absentia in the class of People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karshyga Akhmedyarov.


From 1983 to 1988, he worked as a teacher and orchestra conductor at the Pavlodar Music College. At this educational institution, he first opened a dombra class and created an orchestra of folk instruments at the Palace of Culture of the Pavlodar Tractor Plant.


Since 1988, he has been a member of the Semey M. Tolebayev Music College. He is a teacher and orchestra leader at the Tolebayev Music College. More than 30 of his students have entered the Conservatory and Art Universities. Many of his students have become laureates of republican competitions. Among his outstanding students is the famous kuishi, composer Aibek Bekbosynov.


In 1992, on December 16, 1992, at the concert dedicated to the 1st anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan held at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Central Concert Hall in Moscow, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he conducted the orchestra of the Semey Regional Philharmonic on behalf of the Republic. At this festive concert, People's Artist of the USSR Bibigul Tolegenova performed several songs accompanied by the orchestra.


In 1995, he created the dombra ensemble "Baige" from his students and performed before the president at the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Great Abai and in 1996 at the 150th anniversary of Zhambyl.


In 1997, M. Auezov's 100th anniversary, 2003. Participated in concerts during the Days of the Eastern Kazakhstan Region in Barnaul, Russia.


In 2011, in Ust-Kamenogorsk, at the event "Nauryz Spring" organized by the regional akim Berdybek Saparbayev, he conducted a performance of Kurmangazy's "Saryarka" with 500 dombra players before the President of the Republic.


From 2011 to 2016, he served as director of the M. Tolebayev Music School.


In 2014 and 2018, he was invited to the jury of the international competitions "Silver Strings" held in Barnaul, Russia.


In 2015, together with the famous writer T. Ibragimov, the collection "Chingistau Region's Chords" was published with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.


In 2017, He gave lectures to more than 60 dombra players from children's music schools of the East Kazakhstan Region in Ust-Kamenogorsk. From 2022 to 2025, he served as a conductor at the Amre Kashaubayev State Philharmonic.
