Abylkhan Khozhametov Asylbek Khozhametuly was born on February 7, 1940, in the Production village of Beskaragay district, Semey region. After graduating from the local high school, he enrolled in the Abai Library Technical School in Semey and graduated in 1960. He began his career as a methodologist at the Semey Regional Children's Library.

From 1963 to 1968, he studied at the N.K. Krupskaya Semey Pedagogical Institute, where he obtained a degree in teaching the Kazakh language and literature.

In 1962-1963, A.K. Khozhametov served as the secretary of the Komsomol organization of the "Begen" state farm in Beskaragay district. However, due to family circumstances, he left his job and moved to the Zharma district of Semey region. There, he worked as a teacher at a high school, served as the chairman of the workers' committee of the "Pervomayskiy" state farm (1966-1969), and was the responsible secretary of the Zharma district newspaper "Za izobilie" (1969-1971).

In 1971, he entered the Almaty Higher Party School and graduated in 1973, after which he was appointed as the secretary of the party committee of the Kirov state farm in Zharma district, a position he held until 1977.

In 1977, Asylbek Khozhametuly returned to Beskaragay district and worked as the secretary of the party committee of the "Krivinskiy" state farm until 1979. From 1979 to 1983, he was the deputy editor of the Beskaragay district newspaper "Priirtyshye." From 1983 to 1989, he headed the Beskaragay district culture department.

In 1989, he was appointed editor of the Beskaragay district newspaper "Shugyla." In 1992, he was transferred to the position of editor of the Beskaragay district newspaper "Dostyk." In 1995, he became the deputy editor of the Semey regional newspaper "Yertis," and in the same year, he was appointed deputy responsible secretary of the Semey regional newspaper "Semey tany." In 1998, he was appointed editor of the Beskaragay district newspaper "Beskaragay tynysy."

Despite his busy work schedule, A.K. Khozhametov always showed interest in his native land and kept himself informed about all ongoing events. His articles were always of great interest to a wide readership.

In 2001, A.Khozhametov's book titled "Berekeli Olke – Beskaragay" was published. This book consists of essays, novellas, and short stories. The historical essay "Beskaragay Yesterday and Today" narrates the life of Beskaragay district from 1918 to the present, mentioning the people who contributed to the district's development over the years.

The novella "Omir Otkelderi" is dedicated to the life of Ismagul Kamzaevich Butenbalin, a worker in the agricultural sector of the Kazakh SSR, a holder of the "Lenin" Order and the "October Revolution" Order, whose name has been inscribed in the "Book of Honor" of the Kazakh SSR twice.

The story "Partizan Ramazan's Heroism" tells about the Hero of the Soviet Union Ramazan Ergaliyev.

In 2008, the book "Beskaragay Belesteri" was published. This work was dedicated by Asylbek Khozhametuly to the 80th anniversary of Beskaragay district. The book extensively covers the history and development of the villages in Beskaragay district, the labor in the rear during the Great Patriotic War, the heroes of the Soviet Union, and participants of the Great Patriotic War. The author pays special attention to the period of virgin land development and the life of the district center, the village of Ulken Vladimirka (Bolshaya-Vladimirovka) during those years.

Since 1998, A.K. Khozhametov has been a member of the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
