Editor of the Republican Radio and Television, chief editor of the Semey regional radio committee, and for the last twenty years worked in the editorial office of the regional newspaper "Yertis," where she rose from a regular correspondent to the first deputy editor. Elvira Mikhailovna Kim is the author of six books published by printing houses in Kazakhstan and Russia, particularly in Moscow, including "The Nature of the Steppe," "The Shepherd - Master of the Steppe," "The Stars of Peter the First" collection of essays, and the novella "Behind the High Fence." A documentary novella titled "The Semey Polygon," co-authored with K. Boztev, the chairman of the Semey regional council of people's deputies, was published by the "Kazakhstan" publishing house. E. Kim's essays were published in the magazine "Prostor." E. M. Kim received several government awards: "For the Development of Virgin Lands" (1956), "For Outstanding Labor" (1970), "Veteran of Labor" (1988), the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1976), and two certificates of honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR (1968 and 1988). She passed away on May 15, 1994, and was buried in Almaty.
