Svetlana Oryngazykyzy was born on December 21, 1959 in the city of Ayagoz, former Semipalatinsk region. In 1977, she graduated from secondary school No. 237 named after Teryaev P.I. at Zharma station and entered the library technical school named after Abai in Semey.
Sayagub Svetlana Oryngazykyzy began her career in 1979 at the school library of the Kyzyl-Zhuldyz (now named after T. Khasenov) secondary school in the Kapan Bulak village of Zharma district. From 1988 to 1990, she worked as a department head at the Central Trade Union Library in Semey.
In 1985, she entered the library science faculty of the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute, graduating in 1990 with a degree in librarian-bibliographer.
Svetlana Oryngazykyzy worked at the Abai Universal Library from 1990 until her retirement in 2019. From 1995 to 1998, she was the head of the Methodological Department of this library. In 1998, she was the head of the Periodicals Department. In 2007, she served as the head of the Art Department. In June 2013, she served as the head of the newly opened Library Development Department, proving herself to be a qualified specialist and a skilled organizer.
During her years of service, Svetlana Oryngazykyzy organized the “Oner olkesinda” club in order to promote the achievements of world and national culture to readers, to instill in them the ability to appreciate the values of national civilization, and to introduce readers to the moral life of artists, and held many beneficial cultural events within the club. Due to her deep and competent knowledge of the state language, she became a permanent editor of the library's printed works.
The library, as a methodological center, annually contributes to the writing and submission of its annual report in its own right. It constantly participates in the organization of public events in the city and their holding in its own right.
Semey, Kurchatov city libraries, Abai, Kainar, Borodulikha, Beskaragai Central Library, Mukyr rural library and Semey library specially organized internships, seminars and trainings for blind and visually impaired citizens in order to improve the knowledge of librarians.
Under the leadership of Svetlana Oryngazykyzy, the department staff, as a methodological center, went on business trips to the mentioned district libraries affiliated with our library and provided methodological and practical assistance. It held online meetings with users of Beskaragai, Kainar, Abai, Borodulikha district libraries on various topics. It regularly provided online advice to district libraries.
As the head of the department, Svetlana Oryngazyovna was highly respected in the team for her demanding nature and ability to communicate with people.
Since 2002, she has been a member of the Nur Otan party. After retirement, she worked as a teacher for several years in the Library Department of the Semey Polytechnic College.
Svetlana Oryngazyovna devoted 42 years of her life to library work. In 2014, she was awarded the “Library Work Veteran” badge of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2018, and in 2019, she was awarded the “Library Work Master” badge, as well as numerous letters of appreciation.
