Zamzagul Toltayevna is a qualified librarian and bibliographer who has made a significant contribution to the development of the cultural sphere of the Abai region.


Mukanova Zamzagul Toltayevna was born on February 14, 1964 in the village of Kos-agash, Shubartau district, Semipalatinsk region.

In 1985, she graduated from the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical Institute in Almaty with a degree in "bibliographer-librarian".


She began her career in 1985 in the Shubartau centralized library system. From 1986 to 1994, she worked as a librarian in the library of the T. Yesimzhanov secondary school in the village of "Algabas". From 1995 to 2013, she worked as a librarian in the Readers' Service Department of the Abai Universal Library.

Since 2015, she has worked as a bibliographer, and later as the head of the department, in the Information and Bibliographic Support Department of the Regional Abai Universal Library under the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives of the Abai region.


Zamzagul Toltayevna is an experienced specialist with high professional qualifications and great responsibility for her work. She has established a system for providing prompt and high-quality information services in accordance with the educational programs, scientific and professional needs of readers. She pays special attention to the preservation and effective organization of the book fund.


In her work, she widely used innovative methods and carried out extensive work aimed at promoting the history, literature and culture of the region. She compiled and published a number of bio-bibliographic tools, such as “Days of Commemoration and Memory in the Semey Region”, “Poets and Writers of Semey”, “Historical and Cultural Places of Semey”, “Doctors of Semey”, “Semey Composers”, “Semey: Yesterday and Today”.


The library website was supplemented with informative sections such as "Akims of Semey", "Alash Lions", "Heroes of the Soviet Union of Semey", "Afghan Warriors", "Athletes".

He has established close creative ties with the Museum of Local Lore, the Abai Literary and Memorial Reserve Museum, the Center for Historical Documentation of the New Era and other institutions, and is an impetus for the holding of high-level readings and cultural events in the field of local lore.


His merits were recognized and in 2011 he was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Department of Culture and Language Development of Semey,

in 2015 he was awarded a diploma from the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Saparbayev, and in 2018 he was awarded the badge "Best Worker in the Field of Culture". In 2019, he was awarded the "Veteran of Library Work" badge of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in 2023, he was awarded the "Labor Glory" badge of the Kazakhstan Trade Union of Industry Workers of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Information.


Retired since February 2025.
