Shapenova Bakytzhan Sagdatovna

Shapenova Bakytzhan Sagdatovna was born in 1972 in the village of Bashkul, Beskaragay district. She graduated from the Shakarim State University of Semey in 1993.

Currently, she works as a teacher at Semey's No. 19 general education school, teaching girls handicrafts and nurturing students. She also engages in creating national handicraft items. She embroiders pictures using embroidery techniques and creates patchwork. She makes souvenirs in a national style and dolls in traditional clothing.

She has participated in various city, regional, and national exhibitions, festivals, and competitions, winning awards and recognition. She took part in the "Eastern Souvenirs" exhibition-competition and received an award for presenting national-style handicraft items at the exhibition titled "Astana at the Turn of Millennia," held in the capital during the events dedicated to Astana Day from 2010 to 2018.

In 2023, she participated in the "Eldorado Bazaar" exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of our capital and was awarded a letter of appreciation from the mayor of Astana. She is a prizewinner of the "Asyl Mura" handicraft masters competition held in Abay region (2023). In 2023, she was the only participant from Abay region in the Republican "Alaman Kurak" project held on the occasion of the Day of Symbols, and her name was included in the Kazakhstan Book of Records (KINeS) along with 200 patchwork artists from across the Republic.
