Oksumbayeva Zhamal Beisegazhievna worked in the field of archives since 1998 - 1st category archivist of the Zharma branch of the East Kazakhstan regional state archive, since 2007 - 1st category highly qualified archivist of the department for the collection and inspection of departmental archives and documentation, since 2008 - the head of this department at the Central Institute of Archives and Records.

Head of the department Zh. B. Oksumbaeva supervised the complex of works on control of archival and clerical services of institutions, ensuring the preservation of documents of the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan in departmental archives, organized work on replenishing the archive with administrative, scientific and technical, film, photo, phonographic documents, personal documents, creating conditions for the introduction of information technologies into the work of the department, documents of the National Archive Fund of the Republic, on the development and improvement of scientific and reference equipment for documents, on improving the skills of clerical services and departmental archive employees,

Zh. B. Oksumbaeva conducted an examination of the value of documents, created a card index of organizations, institutions, enterprises - sources of accumulation of the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, kept observation files, fund and statistical records of documents stored in departmental archives; provided methodological and practical assistance to institutions in the development of manuals on clerical work, nomenclatures of cases, regulations on departmental archives and EC; monitored the implementation of the requirements, recommendations and recommendations of the State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the conduct of value appraisals and the registration of documents subject to state storage.

Zh. B. Oksumbaeva was a member of the collegiate bodies of the Directorate of the State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the regional expert and inspection commission.
