Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly was an enlightener, poet, writer, translator, composer, historian, and philosopher.

Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly was born at the foot of the Chingiz Mountains in the Abai district of the Semipalatinsk region. Although he was orphaned at the age of seven, being the beloved grandson of Kunanbai Haji and having a brother like Abai, Shakarim experienced neither poverty nor orphanhood in material or spiritual terms.

Abai became the teacher, school, and university for Shakarim, who possessed natural talent and poetic gift. Shakarim devoted his entire life to the path of science and knowledge. The gifted child, who began composing poems at the age of seven, matured intellectually by the age of fifteen, broadened his horizons, and began to lean towards science, revealing his poetic art.
