Sh. Abenov's house was taken under state protection and was rebuilt in 2003. Shakir Abenov was a folk poet, a collector of oral literature heritage, with numerous poems and verses including "Kozy-Korpesh-Bayan Sulu," "Tansheber Zhapal," and many others that have become part of the golden fund of Kazakh literature. The first President N. A. Nazarbayev received a blessing from the venerable poet, who was born in 1900 and passed away in 1994.
