Shakir Abenov's grave is located on the southwestern edge of Konyrtobe in Kundyzy village, Abai district. In 1995, a mausoleum was erected at the head of his grave from white stone of Mangystau. It is built as a four-cornered monument, with the front side being higher than the back side, surrounded by a fence. The monument is classified as a historical and cultural heritage site. Shakir Abenov was a folk poet and a collector of oral literature. His numerous first poems and songs, such as "Kozy-Korpesh-Bayan Sulu," "Tansheber Zhapal," etc., have become part of the golden fund of Kazakh literature. He was a revered poet who blessed President N. A. Nazarbayev. He was born in 1900 and passed away in 1994.
