Nurmagambet Burial Ground, 7th-3rd centuries BC
7th-3rd centuries BC Abai District25 kilometers west of Arhat village, in Nurmagambet region
Located 25 kilometers west of the village of Arqat in the Abai District, at a place called Nurmagambet. The burial ground consists of about 15 kurgans, with mixed stone and earth mounds of medium size. Their diameters are 8-12 m, and heights are 0.50-1 m. Clear signs of looting are not observed, and the vegetation cover of some is consistent with the surrounding environment, while that of others is sparser. The monument is dated to the Early Iron Age.
